A of I – Updated List of Dividend Aristocrats to Start 2020

Time for another ‘Article of Interest’ post.  We’ve reached the 5th post in this series, with the last one appearing two months ago.  This time we examine another article from Kiplinger’s.

To recap the intent of this… every now and then, when perusing investing or personal finance articles across the Internet, I come across what I call an ‘Article of Interest’, or ‘A of I’ for short.

I decided it might be helpful to share a link to the article in case some of my visitors would find it of interest as well.

In most cases, the articles will focus on dividend-paying stocks or dividend growth investing (DGI).  However, other finance-related topics might be highlighted, too.

Now that we are up-to-speed, let’s see what this A of I is about…

Link Overview

Today’s link takes you to an article that provides an update on the current list of Dividend Aristocrats for 2020.  Sixty-four different stocks now make-up the list.  Seven of those stocks have been newly added to the list as a result of reaching 25 consecutive years of increasing their dividend.

Each stock comes with a brief status/review, as well as showing the following info:

  • Market Value
  • Dividend Yield
  • Number of Consecutive Annual Dividend Increases
  • Summary of Analyst’s Opinions

The stocks are listed in order of increasing dividend yield.

Looking over the list, there are plenty of familiar names, yet some are still new to me.  Hopefully, you find some new ones as well… ones that might be worthy of some research on your part.

For some of the familiar names you may have been watching, perhaps you’ll get an update on them, and your interest will be piqued again.

Of course, it’s always interesting to compare your own opinion of a stock to those from the analysts.

I found that my Portfolio contains 16 of these Dividend Aristocrats.  That’s 1/4 of the entire list, and 1/3 of the stocks in my Portfolio.

How many of these stocks are present in your portfolio?  Do you find the list of Dividend Aristocrats to be a good starting point when looking for new stocks for your portfolio?

I hope you find the article useful and/or enjoyable.  As always, please share your thoughts once you’ve had a chance to read the material.

See you next time…
